OWENSBORO, KY., Carolyn Ann Shauntee, 80, of Owensboro went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, September 13, 2022. She was born July 9, 1942, in Owensboro, KY. Carolyn accepted Christ at an early age and became a member of Sweeney Street Baptist Church in her hometown of Owensboro, KY. She later became a member of Bethel Temple in Evansville, IN. After graduating from Western High School in 1959 she moved to Glenco, IL., and later to Brooklyn, NY., where she lived for many years. Upon her return to KY., she was employed by Alcoa for 30+ years. She retired in 2005. She enjoyed reading, shopping, and collecting everything. She was reserved and quiet but quite comical with her soft-spoken voice.

She was preceded in death by her father Abraham Lincoln Shauntee, her son Scott Shauntee, and her grandson, Joshua Logan.

She leaves to cherish her memories her mother Gladys Moorman Shauntee, 2 sons Steven (Charlene) Lawson, of Neptune, NJ and Ray Logan of Owensboro, 1 daughter Charmin (Tony) VanLeer of Evansville, IN., 1 grandson Logan (Erica) VanLeer of Okinawa, Japan, 4 granddaughters Hope and Faith Lawson of Neptune, NJ, Jaye Alexandra McGilbert of Oklahoma City, OK, and Ella Shauntee of Louisville, 5 great grandchildren Ryleigh and Reece Logan of Owensboro, Easton and Paxtyn McGilbert of Oklahoma City, OK, Jameson Joshua Vanleer of Okinawa, Japan, 2 sisters Alvirta (Charles) Taylor of Owensboro, and Shirlene Shauntee Sylvia of Las Vegas, NV, a special niece Stanya K. Taylor of Glenn Dale, MD, 4 nephews Thomas Harris, Atlanta, GA, Andre Hanley, Las Vegas, NV, Chuckie Taylor, Manassas, VA, Avery Taylor, Washington, DC, 1 niece Gladys Walker, Las Vegas.

There will be no viewing and no visitation.

The funeral service will be held on Monday, September 19, 2022 at 11AM at The Chapel at Rosehill-Elmwood Cemetery, 1321 Rosehill Drive Owensboro, KY.
