OWENSBORO, KY., — Michael D. Hawkins, 64, born, February 17, 1953 in Greenville, KY, passed away Saturday, August 19, 2017 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital in Owensboro, KY.

He was a member of the Power House C.O.G.I.C, Greenville, KY, served on the Executive Board, and was the Minister of Music, where he played the organ, keyboard, and guitar.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Junior Hawkins, Costella Hawkins, and brother, Jeffery Hawkins.

Survivors include his wife Mechele Hawkins of Owensboro, 3 sons Michael Hawkins of Youngstown, Ohio, Dathan Hawkins and J.R. Hawkins both of Louisville, KY, 1 daughter Sasha Hawkins of Greenville, KY, 2 step-sons Tyree Pettigrew of Owensboro, and  Jermane  Pettigrew of Joliett, IL, 2 step-daughters Achsah Martin of Dayton, Ohio and Helah Pettigrew of Dallas Texas, several grandchildren, 5 brothers Edwin (Kandi) Hawkins of Crawfordsville, Indiana, Emmitt (Myra) Hawkins of Lehigh Acres, Florida, Timothy (Kathy) Hawkins of Greenville, KY, Anthony (Betty) Hawkins of Central City, and Howard (Tammy) Hawkins of Greenville, KY, 1 sister Gail  ‘Denise’ ( Karl) Anderson of Owensboro, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Services are Wednesday, 1pm, August 23, 2017, at the Power House C.O.G.I.C in Greenville, KY.

Visitation 11am to 1pm at the church on Wednesday. Burial in Old Unity Cemetery, Graham, KY. Elder Hubert Robinson, Officiating.
