CENTRAL CITY, KY., Vera Jeanine Hightower-Hampton, 63, of Central City was born January 26, 1958, of Central City where she lived most of her life. Vera Jeanine Hightower-Hampton passed away unexpectedly Monday, December 27, 2021, at Baptist Health Richmond in Richmond, KY. Vera accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church in Central City, KY where she was a member of the Adult Choir. She was a graduate of Central City High School the Class of 1976 and a long-time nurse for Home Health Care in Central City. She grew up with a large family of 10. Vera cherished dearly the time she spent with them. Vera also loved to cook and sew.

Loved ones preceding her in death is her husband Charles Douglas (Doug) Hampton on September 24, 1988, her mother and father Martha Lee and Joseph Hightower, 2 brothers Ed Hightower and Pete Hightower, 2 sisters Clarissa Hightower and Dorinda Harvey, her best friend Marilyn Reynolds-Cain.

Left to cherish her memory is her daughter Ebony Hightower of Richmond, son Charlie Hampton of Central City, honorary son Reginald Bland of Richmond, 2 granddaughters JoeLee Hightower (Amelia) of Louisville and Elysia Caudle of St. Louis, MO., 4 sisters Arlene Hightower of Central City, Alfreda Hightower of Orange, CA., Martha Jean Hightower of Chicago, IL., Darlene Thompson (Chris) of Zion, IL., 1 brother George Hightower of Pittsburgh, PA., a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Private services for Immediate Family Only at 1 pm Saturday, January 1, 2022, at the Bibbs Funeral Home Chapel in Greenville, KY.

Visitation 11AM to 1PM at the Bibbs Funeral Home on Saturday. Burial in West End Cemetery in Greenville, KY. Rev. Otis Cunningham will Officiant/Eulogist. Bibbs Funeral Home in Greenville, KY is in charge of arrangements.
